So I’ve complied a beauty edit of the best products to get skin smooth as a baby’s bum, I’ve used loofahs, scrubs a plenty, body butters, balms, you name it I’ve probably tried it.

I got a little frustrated with the products I was using as my skin appeared fine to the naked eye albeit a little dry however whenever I tried to apply fake tan I’d see the results of Winter on my pins. I thought it was the tan so tried 3 different types to find that it was neither of them.

I had scrubbed and moisturised over 24 hours before but alas no joy.

For Christmas my mam bought mee the No7 body serum (genius) and it seemed to be helping. The turning point for me was when I introduced Aveeno moisturiser after using it on my sons ezceema and see the amazing transformation. As for scrubs the one which has improved the surface is the Soap and Glory sugar scrub., I had tried flake away but it wasn’t my favourite and it seemed to block my plughole. Below is the benefits of each and why I have placed them upon a pedestal as my ultimate skin smoothers!

Soap and Glory Sugar Scrub

“Soap & Glory™ Sugar Crush™ Body Scrub is a Smashed Brown Sugar Body Scrub with a fruity lime fragrance that blends sweet lime oil and almond oil with macadamia grains and glycerin from smashed brown sugar.”

The scent is incredible, it’s perfectly awakening for the morning with its zesty fragrance. I have a review on this in my The Drugstore Allstars post

Use this around 3-4 times per week but don’t be over zealous with the scrubbing, treat your skin delicately.

SPECIAL INGREDIENT BHA – You may have heard the terms AHA and BHA in the skincare World so what do they mean? They’re both exfoliants, BHA is typically less irritating and is able to dissolve in oil, great for those pesky blocked pores. For more effective use gently scrub the skin and leave it on your body for a couple of minutes before washing straight off. Maybe start at the legs and work your way up, that way it gives it a little chance to do some work.

I find my tan applies evenly when I use this but don’t use it immediately before you tan as it contains oils which may prevent the tan developing properly. Give it 24 hours!

What I liked is the texture, the speed at which it sank in and the fact no greasy residue was left. Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturising Lotion

My skin has seen a huge improvement since using this, I actually assumed that because of its light texture it wouldn’t be as moisturising. This is certainly not been the case, the immediate relief you get on the skin is incredible, some body butters leave skin quite tacky for a while, others feel rather watery.

The original has more of a oat scent well because it’s made from oatmeal however this product has been given a slight minty scent with the added menthol. It has been created for extra dry, itchy skin and claims to moisturise for 24 hours. It’s fragrance free and paraben free and suitable for sensitive skin. Reading the ingredients it does contain alcohol but that hasn’t impacted on my skin at all.

SPECIAL INGREDIENT Colloidal Oatmeal, known for its soothing properties.
