Having successfully launched 4 clinically proven serums No7 are releasing their best yet, the new Protect & Perfect Advanced is available in 2 products. Protect & Perfect Advanced for 25 and Protect & Perfect Advanced Intense for 35
The previous serums contained the key ingredient Matrxyl 3000 which is a powerful peptite blend that increases the fibrillin in the dermis. Fibrillin is a protein which is essential in forming the elastins of the skin helping it to retain its shape after stretching.
The new formula now includes Matrxyl 3000 Plus which is a blend of the original Matrxyl 3000 plus Acetyl-di-peptide , this peptite stimulates the fibrillin that helps restore the skins architecture.
Rice peptites also found in the serums work by slowing down enzymes that are responsible for breaking down healthy cells and tissue.
The new range has been created to target 2 age groups, the 25 and 35
For the 25 and overs No7 have created the Protect and Protect Advanced which includes Salicylic Acid to work on blemishes.
For the 35 and over No7 have created the Protect and Protect Advanced Intense which included Hyaluronic Acid for additional firming and hydration.
The Clinically Proven Results
The video which will go live on the 14th is quite powerful, some the ladies who were involved in the trial were there at the press event and got quite tearful watching the advert back. They explained the difficulty of not using mirrors for 4 weeks but the genuine relief of finding a product that has improved the look of their skin.
The Current Studies
No7 continue to research in collaboration with the University of Manchester to improve formulas and understand the skin further. They’re currently researching different ethnicities and how the skin changes in ageing.
Below is more information and facts on the key ingredients and properties of each serum.
Matrixyl 3000. This is a peptide blend which has a powerful effect on repairing damage in aged skin, restoring key proteins such as fibrillin which are broken down in ageing. (Fibrillin is an important component of skin elasticity).
Matrixyl 3000 is a blend of an oliogopeptide and tetrapeptide and was a key ingredient of the original No7 Protect & Perfect Serum. Through research with The University of Manchester, the experts at No7 discovered that Matrixyl 3000 was key to delivering these proven benefits. Its concentration has been increased in the new formulation.
Acetyl-di-peptide. Through extensive testing to screen new ingredients for their anti-ageing power the scientists at No7 identified a new highly concentrated peptide which complements Matrixyl 3000 to make the serum even more powerful. This combination of Matrixyl 3000 and acetyl-di-peptide is trademarked by Sederma as Matrixyl 3000 Plus.
Salicylic acid. This is a new inclusion in the formula to help deliver clearer and blemish free skin to younger women. Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid which improves the complexion by encouraging the shedding of old skin cells, to reveal fresher skin and enable better penetration of the formula. Because of its ability to clear clogged pores and neutralise the bacteria in them, it is also beneficial for anyone with blemish-prone skin.
Antioxidant complex. In skincare, as well as in our diet, antioxidants are vital to help neutralise unstable free radical molecules generated by environmental aggression such as UV rays, pollution and stress. The patented antioxidant complex contains Vitamin C, extracts of mulberry and ginseng. In vitro models have shown that this complex protects skin proteins from UV damage.
Rice peptide and alfalfa complex. This protects the skin by inhibiting the action of Matrix Metalloproteinases (MMPs) – enzymes which break down structural proteins such as collagen and fibrillin within the skin.
Repair with a total repair peptide concentration which is more than 30 times greater than the original No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Serum.
Matrixyl 3000: Again, this is the star ingredient, now increased in concentration. This is the key ingredient that drives repair of fibrillin in the skin and our new clinical trials show that it achieves even better results.
Hyaluronic acid. The most effective molecule for retaining water in the skin, and by virtue of its ability to hold up to 1,000 times its own weight in water will also help provide skin firming benefits, an extra boost for more advanced signs of ageing.

I have been using this since receiving it over 2 weeks ago and have seen an improvement on my blemish prone areas, I have been combining it with my usual skincare which consists of a mixture of brands. I’m hoping my skin will looka little more youthful and radiant in 12 weeks time!
