The Boots App

Last weekend I tried out the recently launched Boots app, the smart application syncs with your personal Boots points cards and customises offers based on your spending habits. Basically it’s your computerised personal shopper!

When you upload the app it will ask you for your points card number, now, if like me you have a seriously old card don’t worry, It still works! Inside you will have tabs along the bottom (see image below) click on my offers and it will show your current points total – handy. Then underneath you can select offers created just for you or check the ‘Best offers at Boots‘ to see if there’s any bargains to be had.

If you select ‘Offers just for me‘ you will be taken to a section that shows your latest offers based on things you have previously bought, things you like and also offers you have already used. If you see an offer you like, click on it, once it loads you can see the offer in full and if it’s just what you needed for a transaction click ‘Load offer to Advantage card’

NOTICE!
There was a little confusion initially over this but before you head to the till make sure you load the offers to your card as they need to be on there before the start of the transaction.

Another thing to point out is you can use multiple offers unless it’s double points, so you can take up the offer of £5 off haircare and 150 points when you spend £10 or more on Soap and Glory (for example) but you cannot then use the ‘Double Points offer’ on top of that.

WHAT I BOUGHT

  • La Roche-Posay Redermic R
  • Super Facialist Miracle Makeover Facial Oil
  • Sanctuary Spa Exfoliating cream
  • Avène SPF 50 Creme
  • Avène Hydrance Optimale Riche cream
  • AvèneSoothing Moisture Mask

WHAT I SAVED

This came to a pre saving total of £95.49 but with my current offers I saved £25.50 and earned 200 extra points for spending over £20 on skincare in one transaction.I also purchased some Bleach London hair products to help with my brassy colour so saved a further £5 there.

THOUGHTS

I found the app very useful, easy to use, and I like the fact I can easily check my points without having to go to the till or points machine. If you regularly shop in Boots this is a must, In one albeit large shopping spree I’ve saved over £30 and earned points simultaneously.

The products listed above have not been fully tested yet so I can’t give reviews but fully intend on doing so soon.
