Black on Black

So whilst I savour the last dregs of sunshine let’s celebrate the best sartorial season – Autumn. I truly love this time of year, the darker mornings aren’t so great but the low sunlight and crisp air are ideal conditions for Fall fashion.

I enjoy shooting with Georgia, she seems to work with what I’m wearing so creates images that reflect the mood of my outfit. Today I chose a Parisienne feel, the bow was last minute as I needed something in my hair to make it more interesting.

Black is my go to colour when I have no clue what to wear, sure it’s safe but it’s also elegant and timeless. Mixing up the textures is what makes it modern or edgy. I added a touch of monochrome with this stripped clutch from Michael Kors. It seems to suit most outfits so is my favourite accessory at the moment.

Capes are the perfect partner for this weather as they cover in a chic way but allow the arms to be shown and don’t feel as heavy as a coat, this is a one I picked up in Tie Rack many years ago and I still get compliments on it now. It was a complete rush purchase as I was cold at Glasgow airport once!

The skirt was bought from River Island and I had it tailored to fit my waist as it was swinging round a bit, I’d absolutely recommend doing this with the items in your wardrobe that will get lots of wear like a blazer, trousers or my faux leather skirt.
