Ultraceuticals Ultra Brightening System Launch

Protecting your skin from the harsh Australian sun is definitely a 'thing' now that's well beyond the #SlipSlopSlap message. There are plenty of beauty trends out there. But protecting your skin is definitely one that I support regardless of which brand/product you go with.

I'm pretty blessed as it takes a lot for me to get sunburnt, I can actually only one time I've ever been sunburnt! But the problem with that, was that when I was younger I would simply go without sunscreen as I felt like I didn't even need it and tanning was never my goal!

Ultraceuticals held a launch for the Ultra Diminishing Complex, their latest and great product that's part of the Ultra Brightening Range. The product claims to fade the appearance of hyperpigmentation which includes dark spots and make the skin 'radiant' that's suitable for all skin types and is free of chemicals, parabens, synthetic dyes and fragrances.

NOTE: According to the ever so reliable source of Wikipedia, hyperpigmentation is "the darkening of an area of skin or nails caused by increased melanin."

Then of course I needed to look up melanin which is "group of natural pigments found in most organisms." Don't you feel smarter already?

I had the fun of having my face analysed by this contraption...

I've never been particularly photogenic but what I saw was definitely not the most flattering, it highlighted all my hyperpigmentation which was a massive wake up call that I really need to protect my skin, even if I'm not heading to the beach!

I was really pleased to find out that the brand is now certified as 100% cruelty-free on it's own accord and all I can hope is this becomes a law and that other beauty brands will be 'forced' to follow suit.
