Breakfast at Mo's

You know you like a place when you first go there for a freebie review and then feel compelled to return for a paid visit.

Mo's is a casual dining restaurant in City Walk, that serves hearty comfort food all day long. I hear the burgers are great and sandwiches huge but forget that, for me, it's all about breakfast.

Yes, you can always make good choices and have the oatmeal or fruit salad but I am weak and the menu is too tempting. If I am eating out for breakfast I want to go big!

On my first visit that meant opting for banana pancakes and today I went with not one but two dishes: freshly baked banana bread with cinnamon butter (divine!) and eggs and potato skillet with tater tot hash, rounded off with a cappuccino.

I was so tired in the car on the way here but a good breakfast is absolutely worth getting up early for!

I think the reason I like this place so much is the fact that it's nice and calm - both inside the restaurant but also within City Walk itself. Set in Jumeirah 1, it's one of those tasteful retail developments that feels....Californian? It reminds me of happy holidays in places like Fashion Island (Newport Beach) and The River in Rancho Mirage....maybe the fact it brings back those memories are why I like this place so much? :)

I wore a super slouchy easy outfit and out came the Alexander Wang Rockie from retirement. I have missed this bag! It packs in so much.
