Basic Beauty ish – Part 1 : Hair issues.

The top image is what my hair looks like naturally, straight after I’ve washed it and dried it – just one big frizzy, shooting in every direction mop. No amount of hair product will tame that thing. The only thing my hair yields to is the almighty GHD. For me personally, one of the best inventions I’ve ever gotten my hands on. Island girls, I know you feel me. If I didn’t have a GHD, I wouldn’t be able to have short hair. Or, the only time I’d be able to wear it out would be when I haven’t washed it for a week and all the grease holds my hair down. Sorry, gross, but true.

The bottom image is what I get with about half an hour of a GHD run through my hair, and a little bit of coconut oil rubbed through as I section it out. I only just discovered how great coconut oil is in holding my hair down, it works so much better than expensive hair products that don’t do much for my kind of hair. So, if you have really thick and frizzy hair like me, definitely give the coconut oil a try. You only need a tiny bit for each section.

PS. I’m going to try and do a semi-regular thing of some real basic beauty tips I’ve learnt along the way. I am no beauty expert, in fact I suck pretty bad at it, but I figure if things work for someone as inept at beauty as me – then they’ll probably work a lot better for all you good folks.
