ROSES ARE RED, AND NOW SO ARE YOUR LIPS*

just a little while ago we spoke of spring flowers, roses and how to dry them. i had told you that we were going to indulge in some wonderful home diys including our dried petals, and it begins with today! mondays can be a bit dreary, so this tutorial seemed like a good excuse for some cheering up. so...i will not keep you waiting any longer, today i'll share with you my adventures in making rose, tinted lip balm.
{my photo} i did a lot of research on recipes and really liked this, and this one (obviously because it shared my desire to use petals) and ended up experimenting and creating my own, also strongly based a recipe as old as my granny's time (hence the olive oil). you will need: 2 tablespoons of pure cocoa butter

1 tablespoon of olive oil
dried rose petals... {click on for the rest of the steps!}
a tiny piece of lip stick (i used a clarins sample in two colors because mixing is always fun!), and last but not least two drops of almond essence! using the bain marie method, melt the cocoa butter and mix well with the olive oil. add the lipstick bit.
as soon as they are well combined, remove from the heat and let cool for a few seconds. then mix in the two drops of almond essence and prepare your containers. i used small glass ones.
as soon as the mixture is a bit more chilled (especially if you're using plastic containers) begin to pour it little by little inside them while adding a few petals.
finally, just let it cool until it is solid again and voilá! it is ready for you to use, feels lovely on the lips, is completely healthy and gives a very natural and homogenous tint to your peckers!
xoxo!
