OPI Spotlight On Glitter ♥ Swatches and Review (Dupe Alert!)

Press Sample

OPI Spotlight On Glitter is a small collection of six glitters that was released in conjunction with OPI Glitter Off. I was surprised that OPI was releasing a collection of six all new glitters… then I realized several of these are dupes or near dupes of previous limited edition glitters. This can be a good or bad thing. Good if you missed those previous limited edition glitters. Bad if you love glitters so you already own all the original versions!

I Reached My Gold is a large gold hex glitter, small holographic hex glitter, and micro holographic glitter in a clear base. It is basically the same polish as When Monkey Fly, except OPI seems to have cured the curling “taco” glitter problem. The large hex glitter here lies flat, though the reflective quality of it makes it look like it still curls. Here applied one layer of OPI Live.Love.Carnival.

Chasing Rainbows is a “Happy Birthday” glitter with two sizes of multicolored hex glitter with smaller multicolored glitter. It seems to be an updated version of OPI Rainbow Connection (which was a dupe of Nicole Rainbow in the S-Kylie). Unfortunately, I don’t own either of those polishes to do an extact comparison, but from looking at swatches Chasing Rainbows appears to be more dense. Can any of you confirm if Rainbow Connection had two sizes of hex glitter? Here I applied one layer of Chasing Rainbows over OPI I Just Can’t Cope-A-Cabana.

Desperately Seeking Sequins is a mix of small holographic hex glitter and micro holographic bar glitter. It is a dead on dupe for OPI Which is Witch? Here I applied one layer over OPI Thanks A Windmillion.

You Pink Too Much is a rose gold hex glitter with silver and gold micro glitter in a clear base. It is a dead on dupe for OPI Pink Yet Lavender. I love how it looks layered over OPI Taupe-less Beach.

Rose of Light is a square holographic glitter and rose gold microglitter in a clear base. It’s my favorite of the bunch because I love rose gold and I love square glitter! This is one coat over OPI Planks A Lot.

Blush Hour is a pink and purple hex glitter with purple microglitter in pink tinted base. Since I could tell that this one would be very bumpy if I wore several layers of alone, I applied one layer over OPI You’re Such a Buda-pest. The combination of a periwinkle base and the pink tint created a beautiful purple mani!

What do you think of this collection? Are you going to pick up any glitters you missed the first time around? I must say that I am in love with the two “new” glitters, Blush Hour and Rose of Light!
