Renaissance Cosmetics – L’Hiver, Evenstar and The Danforth

I’m excited to share with you a new-to-me Indie brand today, Renaissance Cosmetics. I don’t feature many Indie polishes on polish insomniac, so when I do it’s because I feel a connection to the brand. Renaissance Cosmetics was started by fellow nail blogger, Meghan from Will Paint Nails For Food. Meghan is not only fabulous at nail art, she’s extremely nice!
Meghan sent me a few bestsellers from previous collections, and I am showing you three of them today.

L’Hiver (The Seasons) is a pale blue crème with golden shimmer and tiny gold, midnight blue, white and pick glitter. This one is so chalk full of glitter that I thought it would be a nightmare to apply, but I was wrong! I found the best way to apply this polish was to really load up your brush so that the polish easily distributes on your nail (not enough polish and it will drag due to the large amount of glitters.) I love L’Hiver to pieces, though to be fair I am a sucker for pale blue polishes!

Evenstar (Stand Alone polish from Winter 2013) is a shimmery glitter top coat with a predominant blue-silver mixture of glitter including a scattering of holographic shimmer. Although this was meant to be worn as a top coat, I just love it on its own! The suspension base Meghan uses is fantastic, so I had not trouble getting the larger glitter pieces on my nails. I found the best way to apply this was by not loading the brush too much, as the glitter spreads easily on its own. Shown here with two coats.

The Danforth (The Shimmers) is a deep eggplant purple with flacks of gold and pink shimmer. This is a gorgeous polish that comes alive in the sun, but in the shade is where you can really see the amazing dimension this polish has! Shown here with two coats.
Have you tried any polishes from Renaissance Cosmetics? I would love to hear your recommendations, because I think I need some more!
