Makeover Monday – Sweet Sixteen

Over the weekend I was lucky enough to meet Mallory on her sweet sixteen birthday!
She’s one of those girls who is SO beautiful it’s hard to even look at her for too long.
Mallory wanted to learn some makeup skills but she also has to be to school at like 5 am so we needed it to be quick and easy.

The details:
For prep I added a little arch in her brows and started with some Maracuja oil for moisture.
I really didn’t want to cover her freckles…obviously, because in my wildest happiest dreams I have brown eyes and freckles. (I try to fake it with contacts and brown eyelinered spots but its just not the same!)
SO to even out her skin tone I used the IIID Foundation in dark (ever since spring hit I’ve been using so much more dark, which might be a good alternative for any of you who have a tan and are coveting the medium!) Using the contour color around the edges of her face really brought out her gorgeous complexion! Then I used the highlight color lightly beneath her eyes and brow bone and in her T-Zone area, which brightened her up without looking at all makeup-y.
Next I took a medium shadow brush and one of my favorite bronzers (from the Flower line at Walmart in Beachy Keen) and shaded in her eyelids and around her bottom lash line. I use this trick ALL THE TIME because it brings out your eye color and is pretty much foolproof – you can’t mess it up.
Then I did one coat of mascara and used a black liner right in her lower tear line.
I used the Princess Peach blush on the apples of her cheeks by dabbing it in with my favorite ELF stipple brush and highlighted her cheekbones with the Pretty In Pearl Illuminator.
Finally we lined her lips with NYX Taupe liner smudged that in and topped her off with some pretty pink gloss.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend!
