Oil Pulling- At home teeth whitening

Me and my color bloggers group are on it again (for our seasonal color challenge) and this time the pick was Yellow…..

Probably 15 years ago I was sitting in the high school auditorium listening to a motivational speaker talk about his own high school experience. When he explained that he would have been pretty cool if not for two major insecurities, a unibrow and yellow teeth. I was flabbergasted. I honestly couldn’t tell you anything else he said. I couldn’t even get past it.

YOU MEAN TO TELL ME YOU WERE A WAX AND A WHITE STRIP AWAY FROM HIGH SCHOOL HAPPINESS AND NO ONE TOLD YOU!?
It’s like in “She’s All That” Who knew that she was an outfit change and a haircut away from super school stardom? (For the record I liked her better before!)

Anyway…I’m getting off course, what I’m leading up to here is a teeth whitening (which is kind of the opposite of yellow I suppose but, go with it:) trick that I’ve heard a lot before but just recently became a believer in.

A few weeks ago when my sister came over I got one look at her pearly whites and had to know what she’d been doing. The answer surprised me, she said she’d been swishing (and then spitting out!) with hydrogen peroxide 3 times a week.
So I actually had originally posted about that…but then some of my readers lead me to some pretty compelling info about how bad that is for you…OOOPS! Some of them told me about another option which is much safer called oil pulling.
Where you swish around a teaspoon of coconut oil in your mouth for about 15-20 minutes. Not only does it remove plaque and help whiten, it also gets rid of unwanted bacteria!
I’m actually doing ir right now, but since I wanted to fix this ASAP I don’t have my results yet! haha will update soon:)

Be sure to check out the rest of these amazing Yellow ideas:

PS thanks you for all of your questions on Eyeshadow School! You gave me SO much more material to work on and made me even more excited for this series!

PPS So sorry I haven’t been more active on comments the last week or so, I promise to catch up I’ve just been so bogged down with all the moving and packing but the light at the end of the tunnel is near!
