Mother's Day

This Mother's Day was everything and more that I could have hoped for. If my mom was right there next to me, it would have been darn near perfect. We spent a few days before Mother's Day in San Diego, making our trip back home to see family into a little vacation (more pics to come). And then we headed back to Joshua's parents house on Saturday for a few more days in town with family. We spent Mother's Day together, savoring coffee and french toast at a quaint little country restaurant nestled in green trees (yes, I'm mentioning trees because I really was aware this time of all of the greenery)-- our family, my in-laws, and Joshua's sister and her family. It was so nice and relaxing. From there, Joshua and I took off and headed to a park with just Eden and we relaxed on the grass as we watched our sweet girl roll and run around. We met up with family later on in the day and BBQ'd and the kids swam in the pool and we all stayed up late and watched a movie. It was so wonderful.
I wanted to make sure I documented this Mother's Day because it really was my first one. Last year, Joshua had just left to go to El Paso for work and my parents took off to head back home the day before, too. It was kind of a sad holiday as I was alone with my sweet babe, right in the beginning of a lot of change. This year, I was surrounded by family and an amazing man who loves me and a sweet girl who calls me "Mommmmmmm!"
For so long, so long... I ached for motherhood. It truly is the best gift I could have ever asked for. Thank you, Jesus, for your gift! Eden and this sweet babe growing in my womb are the best little things that have ever happened to me. Oh my, am I tired! But I wouldn't trade it. Motherhood is so fulfilling, so rewarding, so thankless and yet so lovely. Happy late Mother's Day to the beautiful mamas out there. xo
