Doris Dress

Inspired by the silhouettes of the 40s and 50s, here is another gorgeous dress to add to your collection. The dress has a gored skirt, made up of panels, a waist seam and a button fastening bodice. There is also a concealed zip in the side seam and tie at the back to help nip in the waist for a beautiful fit.

On this course you will learn how to make small adjustments to the pattern so that it fits. You will then spend the remainder of the course learning how to construct the garment, fitting as you sew and picking up lots of new tips and tricks.

There will be toiles made up in each size so that you can ensure you are starting with the right size.

Your sewing level

This is for experienced dressmakers who are at an intermediate to advanced level. It can be made in lightweight cotton and softer drapey fabrics but if you don’t want an added challenge, then choose a lightweight cotton for the first attempt.

Cake and tea will be provided to help the sewing process along!
