SXSW Food Faves

While SXSW brings an array of exciting food for thought, the actual food the festival offers is equally as thrilling. With the festival happening in the heart of downtown, there are oodles of delicious restaurants already in walking distance, and even better, the best of Austin’s food trailers all come out so festival attendees can try everything that the city has to offer. While we call Austin our home, there are so many tantalizing eateries we have yet to try. Here is a peek at some of the items we’ve tried this week…

1. – Kimchi fries from Chilantro food truck – Yes, these are as delicious as they look. The Chilantro website describes it best: ”Caramelized Kimchi, a mound of sizzling Korean BBQ, chopped grilled onions, cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, cilantro, magic sauce, sriracha and sesame seeds. All set on top of a pile of crispy French fries.”

2 – The Fat Elvis from Gourdough’s – Caramelized bananas, peanut butter cream cheese frosting, bacon and maple syrup atopa fried donut. Need we say more?

3. – The Sexy Roll from Piranha Killer Sushi - This melt in your mouth roll features shrimp tempura, ginger cream & cilantro topped with avocado, crawfish & mango. Yum!
