Well, I’m back from Paris, on US soil and am fully prepared to admit it… The French do just about everything better, you guys.
Morning, noon and night, they keep it casual but refined in muted hues and pointed black boots – which was the backbone of my Paris packing strategy and the vibe I was going for in today’s get-up.
In an effort to fit in with the locals and pretend like I, too, am averse to ketchup stains, I packed simple, chic basics for our trip.
… And I was really proud of my packing strategy. That didn’t last long, though. (More on that later, similar to this post.)
Naturally, we landed did some innocent shopping upon arrival — wherein I blacked out and bought an entirely new outfit. I blame jetlag?
One of the pieces I found was this sweater, which I wore constantly over the next few days. It’s from COS – Collection of Style – H&M’s slightly higher-end, European sister label. I didn’t learn of the brand until Paris, and I am a woman OBSESSED, you guys.
To date, COS has been exclusive to the Europe and Asia, but that’s about to change with the store opening in SoHo later this year. DANGER!
I know, I know. Really taking the trans-Atlantic by storm from the get-go… Spontaneous shopping is kinda what they mean by ja ne sais quoi, right? I promise I’m well-cultured.
Anywho.
Beyond channeling those super-chic Paris style vibes (in my go-to pair of they’re-practically-PJ pants), Day One in Paris was all about figuring out just HOW many photos of the Eiffel Tower we could take at every possible angle. And there were many. Une tonne.
You’ve been warned! Lots of postcards from Paris coming your way next week.
*Wearing: COS knit sweater (purchased in Paris; similar option from Nordstrom), Joie ‘Mariner’ pants (on clearance — I have ‘em in black too!), French Connection ‘Ronan’ booties via Zappos (similar here), Jess’s Julie Vos necklace
