In the story below, the Alex and Ani Portsmouth team shares how a woman battling cancer found strength and inspiration in one of our Charity by Design bangles.

A woman came in to visit who had recently been diagnosed with cancer. She was instantly drawn to our Charity by Design collection, especially the Bike charm. Her entire family volunteered to ride in the Pan-Mass Challenge in support of her. She felt connected to the first line of the charm’s description, “The bicycle is a symbol of freedom, completely powered by you” because she believes that her inner strength and motivation is the key to her freedom of the cancer. She purchased matching charms for herself and all of her family members who rode for her. Even our Assistant Store Manager, Maria, was one of the hundreds of spectators at the Pan-Mass Challenge this year to support her close friend who rode in support of his mom who has been fighting pancreatic cancer for two years. The event was so full of positive energy that she and her closest friend have decided to start a team in memory of his mother for next year’s ride!
