Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire {Book Review}

Synopsis According to GoodReads: Finally, the highly anticipated follow-up to the New York Times bestseller Beautiful Disaster. Can you love someone too much?
Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder.
In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. But just when he thinks he is invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees.
Every story has two sides. In Beautiful Disaster, Abby had her say. Now it’s time to see the story through Travis’s eyes.
What I Thought: When I started reading Walking Disaster I expected it to be a continuation of the story from Beautiful Disaster, but it wasn't. At first I was disappointed that I'd just spent money on a book that was telling the exact same story as the one I'd just finished; even if it was from an entirely different perspective. But I kept reading anyway, since I enjoy the easy writing style of the author, and it made for the perfect entertainment while on the stationary bike at the gym.
About halfway through I was hooked again. It wasn't exactly the same, and while I knew exactly what was going to happen and there were parts that played out the same, it was kind of fun to actually see the male point of view and hear what Travis was thinking after reading through it from Abby's perspective in the previous book. It was also fun to hear about other parts of the story that were skipped over in the first book because Abby hadn't experienced them when she was away from Travis. This book also provided an entirely different ending/epilogue that hadn't been included in the first book. It was fun to see how their lives end up after all is said and done.
All in all I'd recommend it, but I don't know if I can bring myself to spend the money on the third book, which is much shorter and just tells about a short part of the book that was skipped over in both of these. I wont tell you what it is, as I don't want to give out the big spoiler, but I'm still debating the continuation of the Travis Maddox story line. Can't wait for the rest of the books about the brothers!
