STYLE GUIDE: Nine West Vintage America Collection

Recently I was asked to be a part of Nine West’s Vintage America Collection campaign on Pinterest and you can imagine how happy I was, being that part of the deal was to offer up a style guide using pieces from the collection I loved. I’m a serious boot addict so let’s just say there was a happy jig involved.

The first pair of boots I jumped on ordering were the Banjos, which have that beautiful, vintage-esque look to them. Aren’t they dreamy?

I wanted the focus to be on the boots so I chose a light palette that combined both off-white and white. I anchored the top portion with a killer duo of gold vintage squash blossom necklaces and my Karen Walker shades. The look is equal parts equestrian and bohemian which fits perfectly into my personal style of a self-proclaimed “collegiate gypsy.”

The second look entailed a bit of denim. Okay, so a lot of denim. I can’t help that I’m having a denim love affair at the moment! And bonus if it looks like it’s been around the block a time or two. Sienna always pairs well with a light washed denim so I chose the beloved “Summernights” bootie. Let me quickly point out that the leather craftsmanship with the Vintage America Collection is second to none. And of course, leather this good just keeps looking better with time. Speaking of craftsmanship, Nine West and Botkier did a collaboration for VAC and the handbags are seriously, perfection. Here, you see me with the “Leon,” which is made of the most buttery suede leather. It’s the perfect size and adds massive visual interest to any ensemble. Who doesn’t love a good fringe bag, I ask?

The third look took on a decidedly polished bohemian vibe which I can appreciate these days since it’s a more grown-up version of my younger self in which the bohemian styling went a little too literal. I’m wearing the amazing Canyon booties in grey and I’m carrying another Botkier for VAC bag, called the “Jackson” in Anthracite Grey. It also comes in brown, turquoise and black and is both roomy and functional. I can’t be bothered with bags that aren’t functional and this qualifies for my Mommy needs. Read: I carry a ton!

In this look I’m rockin’ the Buster boots and decided I wanted to step up the edginess. A pair of wax coated skinny jeans in red did the job and made the boots pop, which they wholeheartedly deserve. A vintage-y tee from H&M’s mens’ section topped off with an amazing pair of 80s Ray Bans I borrowed from my bff and I’m done. Easy and comfy and yes, I’m talking about the boots, too!

This look is definitely me. In fact I just wore this to my best friend’s surprise 30th the other night! I have a slight obsession when it comes to vintage kimonos and this one is my fave. I brought in some trendy gold metallic skinny jeans, put my hair up and donned a punchy red lipstick. The beauties I’m wearing are the “Sweetbriars” which can be dressed up or down. Think rolled up boyfriend jeans or skinnies as well as cute skater and pencil skirts. Super versatile and super sexy!
