The Trend You Must Try NOW: Sheer Panel Dresses

Once upon a time (okay, several seasons ago), the models at Alexander Wang all traipsed down a runway wearing pieces that didn’t seem to be physically possible. Each piece seemed to be comprised of multiple layers and parts — the dresses appeared to be held together by an invisible string, the skirts by some magical force that can move both heaven and earth. This was the cutout’s cooler, sexier cousin: the minimalistic sheer panels.

There’s something futuristic about the trend: it looks somewhat robotic, which is due in part to each of the layers and pieces of the garment mimicking what I can only describe as tectonic plates. The sheer panels are sultry yet not raunchy: the perfect combination.

My favorite iteration of the trend is on little black dresses: they add a bit of oomph to the otherwise traditional style. If you were always afraid of exposing too much skin due to a cutout, this is a great way to try it while still staying within your comfort zone. Take a look through the ones you should pick up, next!
