NYFW S/S ’15: Clover Canyon Review

The anticipation for Clover Canyon started well before the actual show. Natalie and I are both huge fans of the label: the geometric prints, the architectural cuts, and the futuristic textures (hello, neoprene!) are the stuff of dreams.

This collection, however, took inspiration from elsewhere. Spring/Summer 2015 is all about Far East influences. Sarah Lucero, Stila’s Global Director of Creative Artistry, called it a “play on yin and yang” though “balanced full, fluffy lashes with a sweep of shimmery gold liner along the lower lashes.” This was finished off with a touch of Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Tesoro, and a coral blush. The final look is playful, strong, and unbelievably sexy. Hair was given a decidedly “wet” look by having mousse applied and raked through hair prior to blowdrying. Nails were a gold half-moon, created using a dotting tool. In all, I was in love.

In all, the collection was one of my favorites thus far. While a bit too loud for some, I loved the wild prints and metallics used in nearly every piece. If you’re too afraid to rock each look as a whole, you can opt to wear each piece individually for a more toned down style.

Take a look at some of my favorites, next!
