Calvin Klein Proves Athleticwear is Here to Stay

I’ve previously voiced my excitement and concerns about the ever-growing presence that athleticwear is having in fashion: from sweatpants and hoodies to sneakers, things that you would typically restrict to the trip to the gym and back are becoming part of the New York uniform. Call it the model off duty look on steroids: there’s something Liu Wen and Cara Delevingne-appropriate about wearing a pair of sweats with a hoodie and then topping it all off with some trainers. Sportswear, ladies and gentlemen, is no longer just restricted to the tall and willowy.

This was the sentiment echoed at Calvin Klein’s white label spring presentation. As models emerged, it was difficult to not be riveted by just how normal each look was. Perhaps this was a nod to normcore, but the overwhelming feeling was that despite the casualness of each outfit, there was something undeniably chic about it all. Low slung denim revealed logo-emblazoned briefs, denim jumpsuits and chambray shirts allowed for a peek-a-boo of naughty lace undies and plenty of skin. There were plenty of logos to go around, but then again, it was Calvin Klein. If there were no logos, something would have to be amiss.

Check out several of our favorite looks, next!
