Our Favorite Marsala-Hued Goodies

Normal people have football, baseball, the Grammy’s. Fashion people? Well, we have the Pantone Color of the Year.

While I doubt there are any underground betting rings and ballots being placed, it’s always a point of discussion among the fashion crowd in the weeks leading up to the announcement. Will it be an easy-to-work with neutral, or will they opt for an iconically bring citrus hue that’s as difficult to wear as sandals in mid-January? Will it be cool-toned, warm-toned, will it look good on a jacket, a pair of heels, a bag? These are all important questions!

Luckily this year, the color chosen was arguably one of my favorites to date: marsala, a wine-hued deep brown-red that looks strikingly similar to the Great Oxblood Armageddon of 2012. It’s slightly more muted and just a hint more brown, and it’s unmistakably the It fall color.
