Up With the Chickens and Roos

Good morning sleepy heads! Before I tell you about this tablescape, I have to tell you about a cute little story my husband told me last night. We were in the midst of deciding about where we should go for an upcoming vacation when David mentioned that he would like to spend one day in Kerrville, Texas to visit his old summer camp. So he looked up Camp Rio Vista and we found lots of photos. He showed me the cabin he stayed in every summer and told me a story about Reveille.

Each morning the camp director put on a really scratchy old record and played Reveille for the boys as they stood at attention in their underwear. Must have been quite a sight!
That little story inspired me to an up with the chickens and roos breakfast tablescape.

Yesterday I told you about the charming shop called Olivine that I visited last Saturday. There was no way I was leaving that shop empty handed, so I bought these charming Le Cadeaux salad plates. They look so cute on a breakfast table, or luncheon or whatever.

Do you remember when I made this bread bag out of a vintage tea towel? I love bread bags. Allows the bread to breathe.

Those French doors lead out to the back porch. Notice how they are wet with dew. It is so very humid here and in the morning all of the windows of our house are covered with a coating of dew that slowly fades as the morning progresses. It will be a couple more hours before the dew disappears. Hope you enjoyed your visit and thanks for stopping by!
By the way ~ David still has his Rio Vista "white arrow" for being such a good little camper. It's kept with his other trophies. We are all very sentimental saps around this house!
