Flashback To Cooler Days

Summer is in full swing, the air in New York is getting hotter and more humid with each day, and it seems that a little bit of nostalgia for cooler times is finally allowed. At least, I feel much less guilty about thinking of all new sweaters, coats and boots I’ve scored at different sales lately and can’t wait to wear, and about my wish to share this, not so summery, outfit from a couple of months ago with you, because it represents so many of my all-time favorites at once.

Everything about this sweater, which I was totally obsessed with this past winter, is simply perfect – the shape, the color, the texture. Leather pants is something that takes me back to cold winters of my teenage and university years, when the combination of a fur coat and leather pants was not so affordable but extremely desirable and seemed to be so chic and warm. Clutch and shoes are made of one of my favorite materials – suede, which is certainly not that practical as leather is, but much more comfortable, delicate and soft. Finally, this outfit – oversized top and skinny bottom - already became the kind of uniform for me that saves me every time I have no time to think about what to wear, it’s a flattering my figure no-brainer I could go for on any given day. And no worries about shoes, add either heels or flats – anything works.
