Revlon HD Lipsticks in Tulip, Orchid, Geranium, and Gladiolus

HD Lipsticks are the newest addition to Revlon's lip lineup, and they're coming at you with 20 new shades! The packaging is similar to their Lip Butters, but instead have a clear cap, and the product isn't flush with the tube. This can get messy when trying to put the cap back on the tube, and is probably my least favorite part of the products.

I picked up the following shades:

  • Tulip: A soft peachy coral
  • Orchid: A bright orchid
  • Geranium: A bold orange coral
  • Gladiolus: A bright, blue-based red

The first thing I noticed about these is their scent. While I don't find it particularly offensive, it's a noticeable sweet cherry - something I've heard a few people complain about. Each shade has a creamy consistency, but opacity can vary. I found Tulip to be a tad streaky. While these have a sheen similar to the Lip Butters, I find they are a little less balmy, and pack a lot more pigmentation. They are also less nourishing which might be a downside for some. The wear time was pretty impressive - I experienced 3-4 hours through drinking, but noticed significant wear through eating. This wasn't a huge downside given that these don't claim to be stains.

Overall, Revlon's HD Lipsticks are pretty nice! The smell is a distinct characteristic that could totally turn someone off, but they have some amazing pigmentation and lasting power. At $8.99, the prize is pretty nice to boot!
