Benefit Watt's Up! Soft Focus Highlight for Face

As part of Sephora's Beauty Insider rewards program, members receive a gift on their birthday. This year's gift includes two Benefit products, one that I reviewed as part of a mascara feature and the other is the Watt's Up! Soft Focus Highlighter for Face.

This is a cream highlighter in stick form. It seems that there is only one shade for this product on Sephora's website. It is called luminous champagne. It applies as a kind of metallic peachy beige color, which I think is perfect for light to medium skin tones.

I've used this product before and the cream to powder formula is easy to apply especially because it comes as a stick. Swipe or dab on and then distribute with fingers. I think you can also use a brush for cream product but fingers are probably easier. It adds a lovely sheen to the spots where you apply it although I can't say much for it's longevity. It seems to fade away rather quickly for me. Nonetheless, it's a neat little pick me up if you feel like you've lost some radiance and would like to look a little more refreshed.

I don't keep many products like this because I tend to use powder highlighters more. However, I think it's a perfectly good highlighter. It's awfully hard to capture it properly in pictures so I had to swipe it quite a number of times to let you see the color. Add that it's been cloudy and I had a difficult time getting any pictures to come out well in natural light.

Tempting as it is to use it under the eyes, this is not a concealer. I think the best spots for it would be up on the cheekbones and under the brow. You can also use it right on the bridge of the nose and on the collarbone. It's probably better to use it on colder days/months so it won't fade away as quickly. The full-sized product contains .33 oz. and costs $30.
