Favorites: The Best of Marsala Products

Yesterday, Pantone named Marsala – the color, not the chicken dish – as the Color of the Year for 2015, a very high honor in the world of hues. The company describes it as “a naturally robust and earthy wine red.” In real life terms, this shade falls along the spectrum of cranberry, burgundy, wine, plum, reddish-brown, even oxblood. Expect to see shades of Marsala on all of your favorite fashion and beauty items come 2015. Before you know it, Marsala could very easily become “the new neutral.”

It’s important to note that Marsala isn’t exactly a new shade, even though it’s just now gaining recognition as Pantone’s Color of the Year. Wine-colored hues have been spotted on the runways for years, including at Peter Som, Lela Rose, Louis Vuitton, Rebecca Taylor, Elie Saab, and many, many more. And you can find this robust brownish-red shade on plenty of products currently on the market, making it easy to implement this trend into your wardrobe and makeup routine today. Here, a few of our favorite Marsala-hued products:

CLOTHING
Marsala is the perfect color for a variety of clothing options, whether it’s skinny pants or a chunky knit. And yes, you can even wear this color scheme with your undergarments too. While Marsala is obviously a bit autumnal, don’t be afraid to pair it with softer shades to lighten the vibe in warmer temps.
