Art Imitates Life: Birthday Party Favors

For my son’s 4th birthday, I tried to come up with a loose theme that would capture his interests. Lucas inspired me to keep up with my own art as I watched him spend HOURS drawing, painting and creating this past year. I swear, I have to keep the paper hidden as he will draw on every single sheet. I thought it would be fun to share this love of art with his party guests by packing up simple, yet personalized party favors. It was so cute to see each kid smile as they reached out to grab his/her personal letter.

All you will need is one set of acrylics, a wooded die-cut letter and a paintbrush. I found all three at A.C.Moore, costing me about $3 per party favor.

Now I know not everyone will have access to custom design a party favor tag, but if you know a little about photoshop, you should be set. Otherwise, buy some gorgeous craft paper and a unique pen to hand write each name. I scanned in some of Lucas’s fabulous drawings to be used in the design.
His invitation design inspired the party favor, as well. After scanning in some of his artwork, I thought it would be fun to let him live inside his imagination. One of my favorite parts of being a mom is watching & listening to that wild imagination at work.
