Watch me on the Today Show!

When I started this blog back in 2009, I had no idea the amazing places it would take me or the amazing people it would allow me to meet. Â In my wildest dreams, I never would have imagined that it would give me the opportunity to write a cookbook. Â And I never could have imagined that a day like today would ever happen in my life. Â Today, the TODAY SHOW came to my house. Â Seriously. Â To. My. House. Â I’m still in amazement. Â Ever since I was offered the opportunity to write the book, I keep thinking I’m going to get a phone call and the person on the other end of the call would say, “Oh, I’m sorry. Â Apparently we’ve got the wrong person.” Â Today, I felt the same way. Â But when the producer from the Today Show arrived (after flying all the way and renting a car to come to my house) she assured me that they had the right guy. Â I’m still amazed.

All week this week, the Today Show is highlighting some of what they call “the internet’s hottest chefs” in a series called Fresh Cooks Live… and I’m one of them. Â A few things here… to start, I am not a chef. Â Number two – me? Â A hot internet chef? Â I think not. Â Lord love a duck. Â The only thing hot about me is… well, nothing.

Y’all, I am so honored and humbled to be included with these folks on this amazing series. Â It is completely overwhelming to think that I’ll be flying to New York to appear in a 30 minute segment on the Today Show.

So here are the details… My segment will be Sunday, March 30th roughly around 8:30ET. Â They will run an intro piece (that’s what we did today) and then I’ll be cooking live for the next 30 minutes. Â They will be checking back in with me throughout the remainder of the show and you can watch the entire 30 minute segment streaming live online at Today.com. Â Each day has a theme and my theme is Southern Sunday Brunch! Â How fun? Â I’ll be making my Shrimp and Grits from the book, a beautiful (and easy) Fresh Fruit Salad, and a super quick and easy Ham and Cheese Quiche. Â You can even get the recipes now, have your ingredients ready, and cook along with me!
