Let’s get something out of the way: RUSH is a pretty damn amazing movie. Anyone who says otherwise is just insane.

When you talk racing films, it’s hard not to bring up “Days of Thunder”. Especially with Rush — both have roughly the same elements: rivals, a playboy hothead driver, sponsor issues, etc etc. You get the picture. The big difference is, RUSH is more layered. It’s NOT just about the race. It goes deeper than that. It’s easy to just focus on the racing and the rivalry. But that would be a pity. It’s about passion, motivation, dreams and proving oneself and how people may want the exact same thing but value it differently. It’s about the “getting there” and how it can be very different for two people.

Chris Hemsworth was utterly charming as James Hunt. I’m tempted to say he was the star of the film… But Daniel Bruhl kept up with Hemsworth. I loved scenes where they were together, the chemistry was amazing.

Ugh I wanna watch it again!
