Behind the scenes with Mab Graves

I've been so excited about this session! Mab and I had discussed working together a couple different times and we were finally able to sneak in a session this week during what seemed to be the warmest fall day so far. 80 degrees at the end of October? Leave it to Indiana to give us such crazy weather days. But it was gladly welcomed as we would have frozen our butts off had it been normal. We talked back and forth about inspiration and finally settled on a dark dolly theme to fit Mab's signature style. If you aren't familiar with her work, Mab is a completely fantastic pop-surrealist painter/artist in the Indianapolis area. She makes Indy look good! Be sure to check her out on Facebook or grab some of her beautiful work at the Etsy shop. It's hanging all over my house.

Such a complete honor to work with her and I cannot WAIT to share the rest. I'm being pretty meticulous about the editing and putting the images together so bear with me as it may take a little bit longer than normal to have a full set ready. But for now I have these two images (above and below) and as an extra special treat, my mom, Jean Loper Photography, came along to help with lighting and to take some awesome behind-the-scenes shots of us at work. I really don't get the opportunity to have behind the scenes pictures very often, but I knew this would be a great session to document. Big big thank you to both of you ladies for bringing my ideas to life.

And of course one together taken by Mab :)
