New Year, New Goals

Hey Luvs

Happy New Year! Hope you all had an amazing Christmas and New Year. Mine was so good! I spent Christmas at home with my family and I brought in the New Year at church...something that I do every year.

As 2013 was ending, I thought about what I wanted to do differently for 2014. I was really proud of myself for accomplishing most of my 2013 goals , the biggest of them all was getting my Masters #PraiseHim #WontHeDoIt lol! I plan on being a goal chaser in 2014 as well...New Year, New Goals!! Check out some of my goals below.

1. Continue to Grow and Become a Better Woman
Last year was definitely a year of change and personal growth for me. To name a few, I learned how to forgive more, be less argumentative, more empathetic, trust God more, be more optimistic, and budget my finances better. One of my daily prayers is to be a better person and I want to continue on that path of becoming a better woman and growing.

2. Give Back More
I love, love, love helping people and being a blessing so I'm going to try to do more this year! Something as simple as holding the door for someone makes me happy lol.

3. Continue With My Fitness and Healthy Eating Regimen
Although my diet was pretty much on point last year (even though I have a weakness for pizza, french fries, and wings), I didn't see any changes in my physique no matter how hard/much I exercised. I found out that basically, I was exercising in a way that made me gain more muscle mass (and look bigger) rather than tone me up. After consulting with my two of my friends, one of them being a personal trainer, they told me the proper way to tone up, which is weight training by using low weight and doing many repetitions. I also discovered that I wasn't seeing any changes because my body had hit a "plateau" and my muscles had gotten used to the exercises I was doing. After I started incorporating new exercises in my regimen and weight training properly, I began seeing changes! Running and Jillian Michael's No More Trouble Zones DVD has been helping me obtain my sexier ha!

4. Growing in Relationships That I Need To
I'm very prayerful about all my relationships...friends, family, romantic etc. and I want to continue to grow/be in the ones that are beneficial. I don't want to grow/be friends with someone that I don't need to. I've learned that I don't have to be everybody's friend and not everyone deserves my friendship, time, and energy.

5. Become More Business Minded
If you have been a reader for CherrieAmore for sometime, you would know that I have a blog store. My blog store is my first business venture of sorts lol. I have a business idea budding in my mind, but before I make it a reality, I have a lot of research to do. So, for 2014 ima get on it!

6. Be More Consistent With Blogging
I know...I know, I wasn't the best blogger in 2013. Life got the best of me! This year, I'm going to be more organized and have posts scheduled in advance so that if I do fall behind, I can still keep the content flowing and fresh! #Boom

7. Read More
I gotta feed my brain cells, what better way to do it than reading more and increasing my knowledge?! I plan on getting a Kindle to help me achieve this goal.

8. Start Doing More DIY Projects
Do you remember when I turned: a bodycon dress into a pencil skirt, a regular scarf into an infinity scarf, a midi dress into a mini dress; or when I added lace to an open-back dress?! I have a sewing machine collecting dust that I need to start putting to use again!

Welp thats my goals for 2014. I encourage you guys to write down your goals for the year too and try to accomplish them throughout the year. Even if you don't attain all you goals for the year, just know that your effort is good enough!
