Today's A Special Day

Hey Luvs,
Hope you all are doing lovely and feeling great! First off, I want to apologize for my lack of posts this week and last week! My computer charger randomly died and I had no way of updating my blog. Ugh! I felt like a prisoner with no computer access for a few of days. I never realized how much I relied on my computer. Isn't it crazy how much we depend on technology?!
On another note, TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY! Whoop! I'm so grateful, thankful, and blessed to see another year. Also the season premier of Scandal is today, so today shall definitely be a great day! Ha! As my birthday approaches, I always self reflect and think about how much I've grown. This year in particular I have grown a lot. For years I relied so much on other people making me happy instead of searching within for my own happiness. I used to expect too much from people and get disappointed when they didn't follow through. I've learned that expecting too much from others sets you up for disappointment. I also learned that God is truly in control over everything that happens in my life...even the "bad" things...and that the "bad" things aren't so bad when I've learned an important life lesson(s) from it.
The outfit that I'm rocking in this post was an outfit that I wore to church the Sunday before my 23rd birthday. That year was one of the toughest years of my life where I dealt with a lot of family and personal issues. When I look at these pictures I think about how much I've overcome. Whew, God is really really good! I've been meaning to post these pics foreverrrrr and decided today was the perfect opportunity...keeping the birthday motif going :)!
