Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in La Fascinante

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in La Fascinante ($30) is a blue-toned red with berry undertone - a shade of red that I think looks the best on me. I like it, but as I've said on my Youtube video, La Fascinante is the kind of red that you wear on an everyday basis. Something you wear if you want to be a little more put together while running an errand or while shopping. The color, while beautiful, is - let's face it - nothing really special.

Honestly, there must be some drugstore dupes for this out there somewhere..

The Rouge Velvet line is described as "the next-generation, non-drying matte lipstick glides on lips with intensely rich color and a sumptuously soft, velvet matte finish." I've said my piece with this certain line when I reviewed the shade La Favorite, and as I've said, it's one of my favorite matte lipstick formulas.

It applies a bit glossy for the first couple of minutes, then it sinks in your lips and dries down to a very matte finish. Don't expect this to cushion your lips because no, it won't. It's very drying. Like, I'm-so-parched-my-throat-is-dry dry. I do really like that, though!

Oh, and something you might want to know, La Fascinante feathers a bit! Better to wear a lip liner under it to prevent this.
