Mood Board // Neutral Rustic Glam Living Room

Hi guys!

So... long time, no posts. Shame on me!

Between being out of town the last few weekends (namely, meeting my darling newborn niece!), and consequently playing lots of catch up on design work, my blog posting has been very light the last few weeks... So sorry about that! I do intend to greatly improve in this area, I promise ;)

Anyway, I wanted to post this design that I completed a few weeks ago.

It's a living room space for a young and active family that's in the middle of building a brand new home in Texas. My client, Julie, was looking for a rustic-meets-glam space that's stylish, yet also sort of classic at the same time.

Here's what I came up with:

We both love how it turned out!

My client was looking for a mostly neutral color palette (plus some blue tones), weathered woods, animal prints, with some old world European details thrown in.

She wanted a chic, sophisticated space that would be great for entertaining, yet also a super comfortable room that her family could relax in on a daily basis.

The leopard pillows and zebra cowhide rug add the fun animal print elements, while the chandelier, console table, and mirror add some of the old world, patina elements to the room. The armchairs and sofa are pretty classic silhouettes, while the side tables add some fun graphic interest.

Overall, it will be a great space to both unwind or entertain in - I hope you like it!

Happy Wednesday!
