Illamasqua Glamore Nudes in Rosepout and Cherub

There are eleven new shades of the Illamasqua Glamore lipsticks arriving shortly, seven of which form their new nude shade collection which is quite a new thing for Illamasqua to release as a brand, but if you think about it, it does make sense considering so much of their make-up consists of vibrant, strong colours and yet not everyone will want to pair big, statement eyes with similarly striking lips, so now we have a selection of nudes to wear alongside bold eye make-up for those of us who can’t pull off vivid lips and eyes simultaneously!

I’m not normally a nude lipstick type as I’m not a fan of anything too brown or beige when it comes to lip products, but thankfully the seven new shades of the Illamasqua Glamore lipsticks cover a decent array of shades on the nude spectrum; there are typical neutral nudes in Naked and Bare, pinker leaning nudes in Minx and Rosepout, “foundation style” nudes in Tease as well as deeper nudes for darker skin tones in Buff and Starkers. It’s safe to say that if you’ve struggled to find your perfect nude then chances are high you’ll find it within these new shades.

Illamasqua Glamore Nudes in Rosepout

I think everybody loved the original Glamore lipsticks because they’re such lovely, creamy and comfortable finishes, which is quite a stark contrast to the original Illamasqua lipsticks that are matte and quite unforgiving on anything other than perfectly hydrated lips. I’m really pleased they’ve decided to add to the line-up with more shades as the formula is definitely a winner. Now on to the two shades I have which are Rosepout and Cherub. Rosepout is a pinky pale nude that I think quite suits me, but unfortunately there is too much coffee and coke in my recent past to allow me to wear this and smile without looking like I’ve been chewing on tobacco for the last 70 years. If I ever get around to having my teeth whitened again then this is a lovely colour that I’ll pull out to wear with statement eyes as it pulls the look together really well.

Illamasqua Glamore Nudes in Cherub

I’ve taken pictures of both the shades with heavier eye make-up and light eye make-up to hopefully give you an idea of how the nudes shades work with both types of looks. Nudes are extremely versatile in that they can provide the perfect finishing touch to a smoky/heavy eye, but they also look really pretty with barely there make-up in a ‘everything but better’ approach. Cherub is a really interesting take on a nude shade as it’s an almost brick red shade that’s actually quite a striking shade against my pale complexion. I like it a lot more than I thought I would as it’s very easy to wear and it works really well with both looks.

Illamasqua Glamore Nudes Swatches L-R: Rosepout and Cherub

This introduction to nude lips has definitely been an eye-opener for me and I’ve enjoyed having a play with them, but I’m just not a nude girl at heart. I like colour in my lips, be that pink, red or my newest favourite orange (which I have Illamasqua to blame for!) so I’ll be sticking with those shades. However, nude lips are a massive ongoing trend so if you’re a fan then you will want to check these out as the formula is gorgeous and the shade range is extremely well-crafted, so keep your eyes peeled for their arrival later today online from Illamasqua here – link – for £18.50 a pop.
