I love this time of year! Halloween is my favorite. So when I was thinking of Halloween projects – I knew a big Haunted House vignette in the entryway of the #1905Cottage would be so fun!! And I love the Edgar Allan Poe poem “The Raven” – I thought it would be so cool to design a Halloween printable around “The Raven” and have it paired with a spooky haunted house on the wall.
You might not have a photo of a spooky house handy — I didn’t! I found a great one, though, online. You can use stock photo sites like the one I used — DepositPhotos. I chose that one because it’s inexpensive and has a good license for personal use (not commercial use, which is why I can’t share it with you here.) In fact, that’s a good tip for any of these projects — you’re not restricted to using only your own photos! You can find them on inexpensive stock photo sites, too.
I printed the spooky, haunted house picture in four pieces on matte metal prints from Shutterfly!
That said, take pictures of all kinds of things while you’re out and about — brick walls, wood fences, anything that might make a great decor project someday. (I’ll share a project with you later this week where I did exactly that!)
Pillows:
If you’d like to reproduce the same pillows I did at Shutterfly, you can download the high-resolution JPG images instead of the PDFs below.
For the “Nevermore” pillow, right-click this link and choose “save as” to download the JPG. Then use it with the 18×24 size Photo Gallery Pillow at Shutterfly, and don’t fill in any text as a caption.
For the “31” pillow, right-click this link and choose “save as” to download the JPG. Then use it with the 16×16 or 18×18 size Photo Gallery Pillow at Shutterfly, and don’t fill in any text as a caption.
5×7 Printables:
If you don’t want to create a pillow, I created two versions of the “nevermore” printable for you — black on white and white on black!
For the black on white printable (like in my pictures at the beginning of the post), right-click this link and choose “save as” to download the PDF.
For the white on black printable (like in the picture above), right-click this link and choose “save as” to download the PDF.
As always, all of these printables are for personal use only!
