Finale

As most of you would have gathered, I spent the past four days getting hot and bothered, high on sugar, sick of Pharrell, and all too goofy with these leggy beauties backstage for our eighty-look runway show, running something like twenty times, at Fashion Weekend – produced by Lara and Ksenija, strutted by fifteen of the Chic-est, and styled by yours truly, with the help of amazing Emma Lunn. With just fifteen minutes of breathing space before the next show, what has become the fifteen-minute Chic shoot tradition must move on from Monty and Jess to a full pack of hot babes, all of whom make for brilliant frame composition in the absence of any parking lotted, brick walled atmosphere.

Besides, once you get over

whining to Peking Duk, taping shoes, Harlem Shaking, other shaking, and runway hijacking, what the hell else is a girl gang to do but orchestrate impromptu editorials? First up, this bunch of rascals, who closed the show in one of my favourite By Johnny collections to date. And the more the merrier, it seems – from a photography perspective, the image can be so much more powerful in the story-telling sense, and from a styling point of view, more models means more opportunity to play with shapes, whether captivating by repetition, or by contrast.

From a modelling perspective, I’m sure it’s confusing as hell, though the girls assure me it was a riveting quarter hour.

But now, I’m hooked.

Let’s see how many models I can tastefully fit into one frame.

Models Valentina, Milla, Madi, Amy, Sophia, Yaya and Roberta @ Chic Management

Photography & Styling Margaret Zhang with By Johnny for Fashion Weekend Canon Runway (favourites – Roberta in Stripe Split Skirt and Madi in Python Stripe Strapless Dress)

Casting Lara Karamian for LARA inc.
