Everyday Beauty Items

The beauty world is an ever changing array of new products, glamorous packaging and innovative ingredients. Obviously this is what makes it such an exciting industry, and why us beauty lovers just can't get enough of shiny new products. However, what about the everyday 'boring' products that we so heavily rely on? These wont change your life or look fabulous on your dressing table, but they work hard and you probably couldn't live without some of them. I thought it was about time I gave my everyday beauty items a little bit of appreciation, even if it is just toothpaste...

First up in the hall of everyday fame is deodorant, the vast majority of us will rely on this stuff to keep us in check throughout the day. My deodorant of choice for the past few months has been the Dove Maximum Protection Deodorant in Go Fresh. I love the confidence this gives, especially when I'm having busy days or at work, it's always good to know that you'll feel fresh and clean all day long. It's a little more expensive than 'normal' deodorants but it's worth every penny as you only use a little bit and it really does work.

Something I have always taken great pride in is my teeth, no matter how tired, drunk or ill I am I never ever skip teeth brushing, and I do hope no one else does. Strangely enough both my boyfriend and I both got each other the Marvis Toothpaste for Christmas...totally unplanned and very strange. I am so glad though as this is a game changer, ok so it is pricey at around £7 but it's so worth it. No other product has ever left my mouth feeling so clean and fresh, and it also looks very nice sitting in my bathroom.

The majority of us girls will opt for a fuzz free approach when it comes to legs and underarms, and I'm sure leg shaving is the bain of most of our lives, it's just SO boring. I've never really been too fussed when it comes to razors, I always pick up the Gillette Venus Disposable Razors. This is the one area where I don't really bother to shop around, these are cheap, effective, have a moisture strip and basically just do the job.

Cotton wool is big business with us beauty junkies, I don't think a day goes by where I don't wipe or swipe with the stuff. I like to have three types of cotton on hand, cotton buds for make-up mistakes, on the go smudging and cleaning. Large cotton wool pads for removing cleansers or masks and then small cotton pads for eye make-up and nail polish removal and for applying toners etc. I sway between Superdrug and Boot's own brand cotton wool, I usually go for whatever is on offer.

As for nail polish remover, my all time favourite is the Boots Conditioning Nail Polish Remover. It smells good and does the job at removing all traces of varnish, and also giving a little moisture back to my nails. For lip balm, no matter how many I try, I always go back to my Blistex Conditioning Lip Balm, this is the best I've ever tried. And then my hand cream of choice has and always will be the Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream, which is just a dream to apply. Last, but by no means least is the Bath & Body Works Anti Bacs. Whenever I go to the States I stock up on these as I think they are the best, they smell amazing (this ones pineapple mojito), moisturise and are just really fun!

So there you go, a look into my mundane everyday beauty items, all the fancy make-up and over the top products are definitely fun, but without this everyday army, I wouldn't feel my best at all. What are your favourite everyday beauty products? I'm sure I have room for some more...
