Top 5 Summer Lipsticks

I've recently been neglecting my lipstick stash so I thought what better time than now to bring out a few of my favourite Summer picks. The vampy/dark shades are stashed away for the colder months and now it's time for the bold, the sheer and the very pink shades to have their chance to shine. Here are my Top 5 Summer Lipsticks.

For a really bold lip statement, you really can't go wrong with the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick in 02 Frambourjoise. This stuff is seriously long lasting and if you want a lipstick you don't need to touch up too much then definitely pick yourself up a shade. I find Frambourjoise to be the most flattering shade I've tried so far from the range.

It wasn't until a few years ago I discovered the wonder that is sheer lipsticks and a shade I can't get enough of is the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in 063 Wild Watermelon. Too many times I've lost this in amongst my handbag. The Lip Butters are so comfortable to put on, especially in the warm weather and it just gives a beautiful flush of red to the lips without looking too dramatic.

I usually stay away from matte finishes during Summer so I find Topshop's Brighton Rock a happy medium between matte and sheer with it's velvet finish. It's a deep pink shade which feels comfortable on the lips and doesn't look too barbie-pink esque. A perfect shade for any festivals coming up.

The shade I've been wearing non stop is Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in 460 Blushing Mauve. If you want a shade you can pop on quickly without even needing a mirror, this one's for you. It's the perfect you're lips but better shade and it always ends up in my handbag.

What would this post be without some sort of coral lipstick? My pick is the KIKO Exotic Shine Lipstick in 03 Opulent Coral*. If you're someone who isn't quite brave enough to wear an orange lipstick, it's a great alternative with the pinky/orange tone. It has the same sheer texture as the Lip Butter but much more dramatic/bold finish.
What shades have you been wearing this season?
