Winter Morning Essentials

Anyone who knows me well will be aware that I love Winter, and not just because of Christmas. I love the crisp weather, the festivities, cosy nights in and all the spicy rich scents. However, one thing I do not love is cold dark mornings, is there really any need? With this in mind I thought I would let you into a few of my winter morning saviours, these products are responsible for getting me to work feeling and looking a lot better than I did when I woke up.

What would a blog post be without a candle? This Paul Mitchell Lemon Scented Candle is the perfect winter morning burner, the scent is zesty and it fills the room with the smell of a summers day, just what you need. In the shower I always reach for my Not Radio Soap The Phoenix Shower Gel, not only does this look very appealing, it smells so good and leaves my skin feeling energised. Afterwards I slather on loads of the Soap & Glory Righteous Butter, I'm sure you guys have all had a sniff of this at some point, this is a bit of a cult product and quite rightly so.
I always use my Arran Aromatics Cucumber & Avocado Face Scrub in the shower, it's a really refreshing but gentle scrub that injects some much needed life back into the skin. Let's not even try to describe how tired my eyes look in the morning, lately I've been reaching for the Bioderma Sensibo Eye Contour Gel, a very cooling and light creamy gel that moisturises and freshens the eye area. My skin gets a little drier in winter so the Khiel's Ultra Facial Moisturiser keeps any dryness in check whilst Burt's Bees Refreshing Grapefruit Balm smells so fruity and adds some hydration to my lips.
Now it's usually time for a coffee, if your a regular around here then you will know that I am a tea girl at heart but I usually have a cup of coffee in the morning, especially if I'm heading to work. My favourite varieties at the moment are these two from Littles Coffee, one is chocolate flavoured and the other is Vanilla Bourbon. Like I said I'm more of a tea girl, but these are a delicious little morning pick me up (see what I did there?).
My main aim on winter mornings when it comes to makeup is to look awake, youthful and glowy. To make this even remotely possible I build some of the Benefit Fake Up Concealer under my eyes, double up the Wild About Beauty Eye Colour in Olivia as a shadow then highlight and define my eyes with the Urban Decay 24 Hour Liner in Rockstar. I apply quite a bit of blush in Winter to really waken up my skin, these & Other Stories Cheek Lip Tints in Kickpleat Red and Swayback Plum are beautiful, I literally cannot get enough of these on my lips and cheeks. Nothing wakens the eyes more than a good lash curl, and my No7 Lash Curlers do the job perfectly.
Finally for some finishing touches, I have been loving these little tortoise shell Hair Clips from H&M in place of kirbies recently, they just add a nice detail. Then my go to Winter morning fragrance has to be from Library of Flowers and it's the Water & Willow scent, aside from lookig beautiful this smells lovely, it's really clean and fresh but still interesting...and now I'm ready to start the day.

That concludes my Winter morning essentials, be sure to check back next Tuesday for my Winter evening essentials, but for now rise and shine it's time to get up!
