The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

Every now and then I like to switch up my cleansers and see what else is on the market. If you read a lot of beauty blogs, chances are you've heard of The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter. So I decided to pick up a tin for myself and see what all the fuss is about.

When it comes to cleansers I have a strict criteria. It has to be non foaming and gentle on the skin to suit my skincare needs. The Camomile Cleansing Butter is suited to all skin types and has a lovely soft, buttery texture. It does have a fragrance but it is very subtle and has a sort of calming effect.

A little of this goes a long way so you only need a tiny scoop to cover your whole face. I like to warm the product between my hands and massage into the skin in circular motions. You can use it to remove makeup but I usually prefer using a separate makeup remover for that purpose. I will say that it removed face makeup really well but you would need a separate product for eye makeup.

Once I've massaged it into the skin, I use a damp flannel cloth to remove the product. I find my skin feels very clean after using this but still very soft and nourished at the same time. Compared to my Lush Ultrabland cleanser this doesn't leave any sort of residue so it makes it much better to use in the morning.

While my skin does feel great after using it, I have found that my skin has been breaking out more than usual which could be as a result of using this. Or possibly the stress of Christmas shopping, who knows! I think it's important to note that it is made from shea butter which is known to cause some people acne problems so just keep that in mind if you're particularly acne prone.

All in all I think it's a really pleasant cleanser to use and anyone who picks it up will enjoy using it too. However I'm not sure if it could replace my Lush Ultrabland cleanser anytime soon.
