Runway Review: Clover Canyon Spring 2015

Clover Canyon doesn’t make clothes for the mundane dressers, and yesterday’s SS15 presentation proved it like no other. Drawing inspiration from her travels to Asia, guests were invited to a glimpse of those moments with Chinese cheongsams, martial art touches and cloths of Buddhist monks. As sounds of drumbeats and soothing chimes echoed across the space at Pavilion, Lincoln Centre, models with sleek hair and pale complexions channeled their inner geisha while showcasing what could be described as Clover’s most adorning collection yet. Of course, kimono-like jackets and slashes of red were present, as one would expect, but what stood out most were those little touches that suited the brand’s aesthetic the most – metallic inserts on dresses and skirts, an elongated denim coat, florals and colors clashing beautifully on loose silhouettes, bronze and gold touches, staple blazers and pleats. And for all those fashion aficionados, it’ll be no news that Clover Canyon’s highly anticipated shoes and menswear line debuted too – much of which, impressively and impeccably, mirrored the womenswear line.
