Runway Review: Chloe Spring 2015

It was a special collection, dedicated to Chloé’s founder, Gaby Aghion, who sadly passed away the day before the show at her home in Paris at age 93. People who knew her said she was a free spirit who found her power within her femininity.

Aghion’s savoir-faire was reinterpreted by current creative director at Chloé, Clare Waight Keller, and transformed into a folsky collection that talked about free-spirited fashion girls who make a halter-neck maxi dress or billowy, sheer smock and flat sandals look incredible. “I was inspired by fabrics that tell stories”, said Keller. The show presented a collection filled with pieces that incorporated artisanal touches and came crafted out of lace or flowing gauzy fabrics.

Keller’s inspiration for spring Chloé collection also talked about “authenticity of spirit, soulful, honest and individual women”. If you see Chloé’s muse walk around during a lazy afternoon or a warm summer evening, she will be wearing babydoll dresses, airy gauze gowns with delicate lace insets, crochet bandeau tops, luxe lace shirt dresses, suede button-down jacket and shorts and wedge-sole gladiator sandals.
