A little warmth and a lttle Spice with Low Fat Masala Chai

Freedom .
I know its hardly independence day yet, but the idea of any kind of freedom is always liberating.
Freedom from the worries of the high calories attached to your favourite comfort drink and if you are female, freedom from the worry of stocking up your bathroom closet with essential stuff every month.
I like the idea of a warm calorie free drink to bathe your soul with the healing aromas of ginger, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom.
Masala Chai Tea does'nt have to be made with full cream milk and sipped with caution...
You can breathe in the liberating(ask some one who has a blocked nose!)aromas and revel in the fact that it is HEALTHY.
Compared to the pale and insipid and bitter green tea.
B-O-R-I-N-G!

I also like the Idea of a timely courier arriving at my doorstep to remind me that my monthly shopping has been brought to my doorstep in a clandestine gift box with a trinket or two, maybe a healing aromatherapy candle ,maybe a few exclusive chocolates or teas or coffees...anything to keep me guessing...

A delivery service is now available for us in India, which ensures that my bathroom closet will always be well stocked on time and I will never need to make emergency trips to a neighbourhood chemist shop at 11 pm looking for a pack of sanitary napkins.
So,I subscribe to Freedom Mantra.
A little more freedom coming your way.
Freedom from calories, not from taste or health. And Warmth.

An amazing Low Cal Masala Chai Tea .

For one cup of this manna from heaven that is full of antioxidants and flavour you need. ..

1 pod cardamom
2 heads cloves
2 pinches cinnamon powder
2 pinches ginger powder
3/4 to 1 tsp black tea leaves
Sugar to taste (optional)
2 tsp skimmed milk

Start with one cup of fresh water -200 mils to which you need to add the spices.
So much magic in so little!

Allow them to simmer a minute or two.

Increase the heat and add 3/4 of the tea leaves and allow them to bubble a bit.
Add in the milk and after one boil turn off the heat and strain out into a tea cup.
Sweeten the tea if you find it undrinkable, else enjoy the tea with an Atta Cookie or a Jeera Biscuit.
Double the joy and no calories of the sugar.

I believe, empty calories of sugar added to tea or coffee are pointless.

Steaming Hot!
Yes, I love my kettle too...
Skip the sugar and lead a healthier life.

So what are you baking today???
