{things i did} brunch at boulud sud

I know I'm not alone on this one, but I just love brunch. There's something so fun–not to mention tasty–about combining sweet and savory while getting to share plates. The meal was the perfect choice for my birthday "celebration" (just a day out with my boyfriend) as was the location: Boulud Sud has the best combination of French-style Mediterranean food I've had outside of a home-kitchen. While everything was great, I'll gladly pick favorites: the hand-sliced Cinco Jotas Ibérico ham was the best charcuterie plate I've ever had, I am now fixated on making Moroccan m'smen bread at home, and the incredible brioche French toast soaked in a pistachio paste was unlike anything I've tasted before, texturally and flavor-wise. Despite the fact that waitress told us more than once that we'd ordered "quite a lot" of food (ha!), we still had to try dessert. Luckily, their famous "grapefruit givré" is as light as can be but outstandingly good. All-in-all, it was a delicious way to spend a special day!
