Summer Series #3 | Tickled Pink Cheeks

Purminerals ‘flirt’ | CID Cosmetics ‘petal’ | Liz Earle ‘nectar’ | Topshop ‘neon rose’

It seems this Summer I have taken a liking to pink cheeks. A pink cheek always brightens up a complexion whether your fair or dark skinned. I have grouped together the four main pink blushes I have been using, four cream and one powder which blends like a cream blush. Above I am wearing the Purminerals Cream Blush in the shade Flirt, this is one of those true pretty pink shades which seem to flatter any skin tone. For days when I’ve not felt my best I’ve reached for this and cheated, it instantly brightens the complexion making you look healthy and happy! My next Summer pink is by the brand CID Cosmetics, i-blossom in the shade Petal is without a doubt the coolest blusher I own purely for the nifty packaging. You stamp the blusher onto your cheeks using the sponge tip applicator and then blend. Unless you’re going for the ‘aunt Sally’ look, the soft formulation feels silky soft and despite it being a pressed powder it blends just as good as some of the cream blushes. There’s even a mirror on the base of the blusher for touch ups on the go. The shade petal is a beautiful soft dusky pink with a pretty shimmer which catches the light. Topshop have totally maxed out on their makeup range and hats off to them, they’ve kept up their game and the selection of shades they have to offer are fantastic. You could easily spend an hour at any of their in-store makeup stands (I know I have). Topshop cream blush is just as good as any high-street brand and as for the packaging and pricing, well that’s even better! I’m not sure if you can still get the shade Neon Rose I hope you can because it’s a gorgeous bright pink verging ever so slightly on the coral side, not sure why it’s showing up as a peach shade in the swatches above?! It’s definitely more pink than coral. Right this one is for all the coral/pink lovers out there, Liz Earle Healthy Glow Cream Blush in the shade Nectar is a beautiful coral pink shade, perfect for the Summer months. I really like how neat and compact this cream blush is, great for travelling. You could easily have a few of these and they wouldn’t take up much space. The cream texture blends to a velvet powdery finish, Liz Earle have a great selection shades which are also available in a powder form if you’re not keen on using cream formulations.

Have you been tickled pink after this post? What colour have you been blushing over so far this Summer?
