Monthly Favourites | July

This month has been an exciting month, I’ve tried to keep it to a handful of products but I probably could’ve mentioned another 2 possibly three!

Mac Eyeshadow Palette L-R

Retrospeck is a lustre finish, perfect for highlighting the brow bone and the inner corner of the eyes. It has a fine gold shimmer running through it which catches the light beautifully.

Naked Lunch is a frost finish, a great day shade just applied all over the lid. A lovely subtle pink to have in the collection, it works great with other shades and it’s a great shade for crease blending.

All that Glitters is a deluxe pearl finish, a warm pink bronze with a fine gold shimmer running through. It’s my favourite shade from the quad because it’s so easy to wear, this is definitely a one lid shade which looks amazing all over the lid and then blended into the crease.

Tempting is a lustre finish, a rich chocolate shade with fine specks of gold. I use this shade a lot, I even wear it all over the lid during the day. It’s a great shade to use in the crease to create more depth or simply over the lid and blended out.

Moving onto face I’ve been using Pixi Glow Tonic most days and I’m glad I snapped up two bottles! It helps keep my skin clear and glowing, I do find that some days if I have a blemish I will use a stronger exfoliating toner such as the Clarins Exfoliating Lotion or my latest exfoliating friend is the Clearasil Super Fruits pads. I’ve only been using them a short while but so far so good! You’ll probably see these featured next month.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush I have been using Real Techniques ever since they launched. My favourite is the buffing brush, I use it for all my liquid foundations. However I picked up the Expert Face Brush last month and have used it ever since. The bristles are tightly packed giving it a more dense feeling compared to the Buffing Brush. It has a smaller brush head but cut differently. It’s a great brush and couldn’t believe Asda stocked them!

Bourjois 123 CC Cream I first heard about this from the makeup queen Lisa Eldridge. So after searching through the shades I decided on Light Beige It is a little warm for me but for the Summer it’s perfect. Chances are for the Winter I will need to drop a shade. I’ve used both fingers and brush to apply this, it has a lovely movable consistency. It leaves skin with a healthy natural glow that looks beautiful. I have been known to powder around lunch time because my skin has a tendency of getting a little greasy especially in the t-zone.

Dr.Lipp Amazing! Yes it’s first and foremost sold as a nipple cream but hey it’s also great on chapped lips and dry areas on the body. I use a little every morning as part of my skincare routine. By the time I’ve applied a little and finished the rest of routine my lips are hydrated and ready for colour.

KIKO Cosmetics Exotic Shine Lipstick 06 I am in love with this shade, sadly I can’t see it online anymore but if you’re lucky enough to live near a store you could check int here. It’s a striking hot pink which brightens the complexion. Some days I just wear mascara and this! I’ve even applied it to the apples of my cheeks and it looks great.
