Villa van Zanten by Wiel Arets ArchitectsWiel Arets Architects won our hearts some time ago not only with geometrical and simple buildings, but also with an excellent presentation of their works. Villa van Zanten is another impressive project of this talented team of architects. Situated in a residential suburb, its concept is focused on the relationship between private and shared spaces. Depending on the privacy needed, the house is wrapped in various kinds of glazing. For instance, the transparent glazing is used for the part of the house facing the courtyard, whereas opacity glaze shelters the privacy of the family from the city. As the architects explain, Villa van Zanten was an exercise in creating the peculiar family shelter, so-called „inner world” in a relatively dense neighbourhood.
